Sharing the Spirit are holiday parties for children without permanent housing that also provide a hands-on opportunity for youth to volunteer and give back. The holidays can be a very difficult time for those without permanent housing – especially for children. 2.5 million children in the U.S. are homeless, with children accounting for 21% of the nation’s general homeless population. The chances of these children getting to experience a traditional holiday are close to non-existent. Sharing the Spirit Holiday Party provides a sense of normalcy for these children, and a chance to feel treasured and valued.
