Through counseling services provided by Western Youth Services, Rachael was finally able to reconnect with her Mother and tell her how she had been feeling and struggling emotionally especially with the family changes that occurred within the past year. Rachael shared with her mom that the outbursts and attitude that she showed toward her mom was her only way of expressing the true pain and sadness she felt since her father left the family.
This was a moment it clicked for Rachael’s mom. Mom was able to hear, listen, understand and respond to Rachael’s needs and to learn what she can do to support Rachael. Rachael and her mom were able to learn communication skills to not only improve communication but to also reconnect in a very loving way.
