Wyland Foundation

Founded by renowned environmental artist Wyland, the Wyland Foundation has helped children and families around the nation to rediscover the importance of healthy oceans and waterways through public art programs, classroom science education, and live events. The foundation gives children the tools they need to become more creative, positive, and solution-oriented. The foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and has worked directly with more than one million children since its inception in 1993.

Wyland Ambassadors for the Planet are individuals who are making a difference for the planet. Recipients have included the Dalai Lama, National Geographic Explorer in Resident Dr. Sylvia Earle, Pierce Brosnan, Jane Goodall, EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy, and surfing icon Kelly Slater. All of these individuals share the common goal of using their talents, knowledge, and passion to ensure a more sustainable planet for generations to come. Each ambassador is recognized with a commemorative medal designed by Wyland. Additionally, to celebrate the efforts of young people who have shown an interest in making a difference, the Wyland organization provides opportunities to become a Youth Ambassador for the Planet.
