Hester Street Collaborative (HSC) is a design/build community-based non-profit organization created to improve the physical environment in underserved NYC neighborhoods.
Hester Street is an urban planning, design and development nonprofit that works to ensure neighborhoods are shaped by the people who live in them. We offer planning, design and community development technical assistance to community-based organizations, government and other agencies. Our goal is equitable, sustainable and resilient neighborhoods and cities.
We combine technical planning, design and development expertise with deep, meaningful community engagement. The result is increased civic participation and plans and projects that directly address community-identified needs and priorities.
